Leonard Holman is a Limerick man who hails originally from Garryowen. He has had poems and short stories published in the British Poetry Review, Limerick Leader , poem book Stoney Thursday ,Revival Poetry Journal , and also a self published book of short stories called The Dark Horse Stories.

Those
many wreaths that are now left
on the centre of the bridge
and down its long walk
will soon decay ,
Their petals falling down in to the fast flowing water
Sailing in and out with the tide
And you , in your last smiling looking straight out photo
Will stay forever young why

Death , you knock on all doors
I don't want you yet some welcome you
And like the mist with its guided hand
That came down on Egypt
It creeps through the closed locked frightened door
